Experience the Freedom of Carriage Driving

Carriage driving is a fantastic way to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of working with horses, even if riding isn’t an option. Whether you’re able to climb onto the carriage yourself or prefer to stay in your wheelchair (secured safely with straps), you’ll love the one-to-one connection with a pony or horse as you explore the countryside.

The sense of freedom and achievement participants feel when asking a pony to "walk on" or "trot on" is simply amazing. Our ponies are specially trained to respond to voice commands, giving you the incredible experience of being in control.

We often see clients arrive feeling a little unsure, but by the time they’re on one of our comfortable four-wheeled carriages, they’re brimming with excitement. The joy and positive energy carriage driving brings are truly transformative.

How Much Does It Cost?

We suggest a minimum donation of £15 per session, per person for both riding and carriage driving. If you’re able to give more, your generosity will help us continue offering these life-changing experiences.

Participants under 25 may qualify for funding through Activities Unlimited, and families can apply for a Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Personal Budget to cover activities included in an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). For more details about personal budgets, email localoffer@suffolk.gov.uk. We also accept payments through prepaid cards provided by Suffolk County Council.
